Trip.com Charged Me Instantly While Checking for Installments—Refund Request Denied
I purchased two round-trip flight tickets on Trip.com, but my intention was not to finalize the booking—I was simply checking whether there was an installment payment option available. As I proceeded through the steps to review the payment breakdown, the system suddenly charged my card without any final confirmation or explicit approval.
I immediately realized what had happened and contacted Trip.com right away to request a refund. Despite reaching out as soon as the transaction occurred, my refund request was denied without reasonable explanation.
I acted in good faith and never confirmed the payment. The platform’s lack of clarity and instant charge mechanism are misleading and user-unfriendly. I am asking Trip.com to reverse the payment and cancel the tickets that were never intended to be finalized.
If I do not receive a positive resolution, I will be filing formal complaints with both the Consumer Arbitration Board (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) and CİMER (Presidency Communication Center). I expect Trip.com to acknowledge its system's flaw and issue a full refund immediately.
