I booked a hotel in Kapadokya through Trip.com on May 12, 2025. The confirmation stated a total of ₺16,700, which I agreed to and paid with my Turkish credit card. However, when I checked my credit card statement, the charge reflected ₺17,300 — ₺600 more than the confirmed amount.
When I contacted my bank, they claimed it might be due to exchange rate differences. But I made this reservation in Turkish Lira, at a Turkish hotel, using a Turkish card — there should be no foreign exchange issue. Trip.com, on the other hand, redirected me back to the bank, taking no responsibility.
This kind of back-and-forth is unacceptable. If you’re considering booking through Trip.com, beware that the final amount you pay may exceed the confirmation. Either disclose all extra charges upfront or fix the billing system. I demand Trip.com refund the overcharged ₺600 immediately.
