I made a reservation on Airbnb on March 17, 2025, using confirmation code hmrf*hf.** The total price was clearly listed as ₺30,600, and I paid in Turkish Lira. But the next day, I checked my bank account and saw that ₺31,500 had been charged—₺900 more than the original booking price.
When I contacted Airbnb, they gave me a generic response about how “your bank or credit card company may treat Airbnb’s payment processor as international and apply cross-border fees.” But this makes no sense because the transaction was made in ₺, and the amount shown on Airbnb was also in ₺. So why was I overcharged?
Airbnb should not advertise one price and charge another. I demand a full refund of the excess ₺900 taken from my account. This isn’t a small glitch—it’s a misleading practice, and customers shouldn’t be the ones paying for it. Fix this now.
