Hotels.com Overcharged Me for a Turkey Booking and I Can’t Reach Customer Support
On April 20, 2025, I made a four-night hotel reservation in Turkey through Hotels.com. During the entire booking process, the system language was Turkish, the payment page was in Turkish, the hotel was located in Turkey, and I used a Turkish bank-issued credit card for the payment.
Despite everything being within Turkey and clearly implying a Turkish Lira-based transaction, I was shocked to find that my credit card statement showed a ₺4000 overcharge. This situation is completely misleading and caused me financial loss due to currency exchange rate differences and extra bank fees. It is unacceptable to charge more than the invoiced amount.
I am demanding the immediate cancellation of my reservation and a full refund of the overcharged amount. Furthermore, it is unacceptable that there is no proper customer support representative available in Turkey. I called the customer service number 00800 4488 21698 multiple times but received no response.
