On 28–29.08.2025, I booked Navalia Hotel in Izmir through Trip.com. During the reservation process, the total amount was clearly shown as 6.830,71₺. However, when the payment was processed on my credit card, I was charged 7.105,45₺. This is a difference of nearly 275₺, which was never disclosed at the time of booking.
I contacted Trip.com customer service three times. Each time, I was told that their system shows the amount as 6.830,71₺ and that I should speak with my bank. When I contacted my bank, they confirmed that the charge of 7.105,45₺ was made directly by Trip.com as the 166,60 USD equivalent, and they cannot issue a document beyond this confirmation. When I relayed this back to Trip.com, I was again told that their system only reflects the lower amount and that they could open a case, promising a response in three days.
I never requested any cancellation, change, or additional service that could justify this extra charge. This is the first time I have faced such a problem, and I find the lack of transparency unacceptable.
I demand that Trip.com refund the overcharged amount immediately and provide a clear explanation as to why I was billed more than the amount displayed during booking. Customers should be able to trust the final price shown at checkout without hidden or unexplained discrepancies.
