On November 12, I placed an order on Shein for several bras. After the items arrived, I decided to return them because I didn’t like the fabric or the overall quality. When I submitted my return request through the app, I saw that Shein accepted the return but does not cover the shipping cost, meaning I would have to send the package back using any shipping company at my own expense.
When I went to a shipping branch and said I wanted to return a package to China, they couldn’t even provide a clear price. They told me they would need to check with their main office, and that shipping a package internationally to China could cost several thousand TL. In other words, because Shein does not offer free return shipping, I cannot realistically return the items I didn’t like, and the products are now stuck with me.
When I spoke with customer service and live support, they only said they were sorry and that this was their policy, but they offered no solution. Meanwhile, Temu—another company that ships from China—provides free returns, yet Shein refuses to cover any shipping cost, which is extremely unfair to customers. Since I cannot return products I’m not satisfied with at a reasonable cost, I no longer plan to shop from Shein and would not recommend it to others.
I request that Shein revise its return process to cover at least a reasonable portion of the shipping fee, or ideally offer free returns, and that my grievance be resolved.
