Scribd Charged My Card Every Month Even After I Paused My Subscription
I am filing a complaint regarding an unfair and confusing issue I experienced with my Scribd subscription. I previously paused my subscription through the website because there was no other option available. After that, I completed the cancellation process and received a confirmation message stating that my subscription had been canceled.
Later, I needed the service again, so I reactivated my subscription. Afterward, even though I paused the subscription again, my credit card continued to be charged $9.99 every month, which I noticed amounted to approximately 563 TRY based on the current exchange rate. Although the account stated that the subscription was paused until June, continuing to regularly withdraw money is misleading and has caused financial harm. If payments continue to be taken, I do not understand the purpose of having a pause option.
I followed all the required steps for canceling and pausing my membership through your website correctly, and I also contacted you through your website. Despite this, I was charged even while my subscription was paused. I request that this issue be resolved, that all incorrectly charged amounts be fully refunded, and that my subscription is actually paused so that no further payments are taken without my authorization in the future.
