Scribd Free Trial Turned Into an Unexpected $12 Subscription Charge
While browsing the Scribd website, I signed up for a 1-month free trial subscription to download a PDF. I started the membership on June 1, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m. using my computer through the Scribd website. Although I believed the membership was a free trial, $11.99 was charged from my bank account, and the transaction appeared on my statement as 564.55 TRY.
Because the website has an English interface, I could not find a clear communication channel or customer service information regarding subscription and refund processes, so I was unable to contact Scribd directly. I am experiencing inconvenience because my free trial membership was unintentionally converted into a paid subscription.
I request that this subscription, which I signed up for as a free trial, be canceled immediately and that the $11.99 charged to my card be fully refunded.
