Ryanair Denied Boarding on Flight RK1273 Despite Payment, Causing Severe Financial
On July 1, I was scheduled to fly on Ryanair flight RK1273 from London Stansted to Edinburgh, but I was unfairly denied boarding due to my bag. Even though I was fully prepared to pay for the baggage allowance and handed over my credit card, the gate agent deliberately prevented me and my daughter from boarding. She counted an empty, brand-new bag as if it were overfilled, and her mocking, obstructive attitude made it clear she was acting intentionally. To make matters worse, the flight was already two hours delayed, which caused me to miss my hotel check-in, lose the cost of my prepaid reservation, and eventually cancel my July 4 Edinburgh–Istanbul flight. I was then forced to purchase a completely new ticket from London to Istanbul, adding even more unexpected costs. The incident has caused me not only serious financial damages—including visa expenses, hotels, and flight changes—but also emotional distress. What’s more disturbing is that the same staff member even treated a pregnant passenger poorly, sending her to the back of the line for no valid reason, which I find to be against both professional ethics and human decency. I am formally requesting that Ryanair compensate me for the financial losses, acknowledge the severe disruption this caused to my holiday, and take responsibility for the unacceptable conduct of this employee. I have attached all invoices and receipts as proof of my losses, and I will never fly with Ryanair again after this experience.
