I made a car reservation through Rentalcars.com for Bologna Airport in Italy, paying ₺1,009 for 3 days. When I arrived at the Target Rent branch to collect the car, I provided all my documents, including my valid Turkish driver’s license. But to my surprise, they told me that Turkish licenses aren’t accepted in Europe, and they refused to give me the car.
I was with my wife, who has the exact same Turkish license, and they told me I could still rent the car—but only if I paid an additional €165 to add her as a second driver. That’s more than the total rental price itself! I refused to pay such an illogical and unfair fee, so I canceled the rental and left.
Despite clearly being misled and denied service, Rentalcars refused to issue a refund. Their website promotes attractive low prices, but when you arrive, you face hidden policies and unexpected charges. It feels like a scam to lure people in with fake affordability.
Rentalcars, I demand a full refund for the reservation you failed to honor. Stop misleading customers with incomplete information and unreliable local partners. Next time, I’ll stick with trusted names like SIXT, Avis, or Garenta—at least they’re transparent.
