Pegasus Airlines Made Me Miss My Flight Despite Arriving Early

On July 18, 2025, my wife, my son, and I arrived at the airport 55 minutes before the scheduled departure of our flight PC2181 from İzmir to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen, under reservation number PVKUC3. We had already selected our seats and completed the online check-in process in advance. However, due to a long queue at the baggage drop counter and the slow operation of the system (clearly caused by operational inefficiencies), we were informed that baggage drop had closed just 2 minutes earlier. Yet, we observed that the passengers right before us were still being served. We objected and politely requested that our baggage be accepted, emphasizing that the 2-minute delay was not our fault and could reasonably be tolerated. We even suggested verifying our arrival time through security camera footage and pointed out that the passengers ahead of us could confirm our presence. Unfortunately, no assistance was offered. Despite there still being ample time before the departure of the flight, our efforts to find a solution were entirely dismissed. We proposed sending our baggage on a later flight, which was also rejected. Our luggage was only slightly above standard cabin baggage dimensions and could have reasonably been allowed onboard, yet that request was also denied. As a result, we had no choice but to change our tickets, for which we were charged an additional ₺7,354 just for a one-way fare. Not long ago, we had paid ₺8,500 for a round-trip ticket including in-flight meals. Moreover, the paid meal (a toast menu) for the new flight was neither provided nor refunded. The responses to our complaints and requests were irrelevant and clearly indicated that no proper review of the situation had been conducted. Such a lack of empathy and rigid attitude is completely unacceptable and unworthy of a company like PEGASUS. Despite arriving on time, we missed our flight, incurred a significant and unjust extra cost, and did not receive the services we had paid for. We strongly condemn PEGASUS Airlines' unhelpful and rigid approach and demand that our grievance be properly addressed. We hereby declare that we will pursue this matter through all appropriate legal channels and seek full compensation for our losses.
