I Couldn't Bring My Child’s Scooter on Pegasus Flight Despite Removing Battery

We recently flew with Pegasus Airlines from Hurghada to Istanbul, and I am writing to express my serious frustration over an illogical and unresolved issue we encountered during check-in. We had purchased a small electric scooter for our son while in Egypt. I had already confirmed in advance that as long as the lithium battery was within airline limits and detached from the scooter, it would be allowed on board.

Following this guidance, we removed the battery before arriving at the airport. But during check-in, we were told the scooter could not be taken on the flight, even without the battery. Strangely, they allowed us to carry the battery—supposedly the "dangerous" component—on board with us in the cabin. This raises two critical questions Pegasus needs to answer:

If the battery is considered a risk, why did you allow us to fly with it in the cabin?

If the scooter no longer contains a battery and is thus not electric, why was it still rejected?

I repeatedly explained to the staff that this was a toy scooter for a child, not a professional electric vehicle. Yet no one offered a solution or even listened attentively. Now our scooter is being held by customs at Hurghada Airport.

This situation is completely irrational and unacceptable. You allowed the component considered hazardous on board but denied the now-batteryless toy. I expect Pegasus to take immediate responsibility and ensure the return of the scooter to us. I’m also preparing to pursue my legal rights in this matter. Attached are the flight details and battery information. I demand a prompt phone call and resolution from Pegasus.
