I’ve been using the Oppo A96 and was initially very happy with my purchase—until I realized I’m stuck on ColorOS version 11 while newer, even lower-end models like the Oppo A64 are already running version 13. This situation has created major compatibility issues for me.
Right now, I can’t install many new apps, and the ones already on my phone won’t update due to the outdated operating system. This isn’t just frustrating—it makes my phone almost unusable for the tasks I rely on daily. I’ve tried checking for updates multiple times, but the phone insists no newer version is available. That simply shouldn’t be the case for a relatively new model like this.
What’s worse is that I chose Oppo because I trusted the brand and expected better long-term software support. But now I feel completely let down. Why is there no update path for the A96? Why are newer updates being rolled out to older or lower-tier models first?
I’m asking Oppo to provide an immediate software update for the A96 or offer a clear timeline on when it will be available. Ignoring this problem is not acceptable. I shouldn’t be forced to buy a new phone just to keep basic apps running.
