I purchased my 2015 Opel Mokka 1.5 CDI as a brand-new vehicle from Opel Antalya, and it currently has 72,000 km on it. In early December 2023, the ESC light illuminated, and the vehicle started experiencing traction issues. While driving, the malfunction light suddenly activated, causing a loss of traction. The steering became heavy, and the speed slowed down to an almost walking pace, severely impeding driving.
I took the vehicle to Fethiye Bakırcılar Opel Authorized Service, where they superficially inspected the vehicle and requested me to leave it for a more in-depth examination. They admitted uncertainty about the problem's origin and nature, mentioning a trial-and-error approach to identify and address the issue step by step. They didn't provide an approximate cost and warned me to be prepared for any expenses.
Upon researching online, I discovered similar issues reported in Opel vehicles like Mokka, Corsa, and Insignia, potentially related to the accelerator pedal. However, complainants indicated that the problem persisted even after extensive repairs and maintenance. This information genuinely concerns me.
I chose Opel for its reputation as a German automotive giant, expecting reliability from a world-renowned brand. In today's technological landscape, only robust companies can effectively address malfunctions in their products. Unfortunately, Opel has disappointed me in this regard. They acknowledge being unaware of the problem, even with numerous reported cases, and haven't treated it as a serious and chronic malfunction.
I urgently request Opel to resolve this issue promptly. If Opel cannot stand behind its vehicles, it might be time to reconsider. Perhaps they should stick to selling electronic home appliances... #Mokka
