Opel Left Me Without a Car After My Parked Vehicle Caught Fire

I Trusted the Opel Brand, but My Life Has Turned Into a Nightmare! My 2021 Opel vehicle, with only 40,000 kilometers on it, caught fire while parked on April 18. Yes, you read that correctly: the car was parked, turned off, and suddenly filled with smoke. The center console exploded, the seat belts melted, and the interior was badly damaged. There was no warning, no indication of a malfunction, and no user error was found after inspection. I live in Istanbul. I reside on the Asian side and work on the European side. I also suffer from sciatica, and when I walk too much, my leg locks up and I become unable to walk. I need a car to take my children to school. Since that day, I have been without a car, and my life has become a nightmare. I’ve spoken to Opel Turkey numerous times. They kept telling me: “We are processing your case, we won’t let you down.” But these were just empty promises. No replacement vehicle was provided. No real solution was offered. And to make things worse, my vehicle now has a fire incident recorded in the insurance registry, which has significantly reduced its resale value. Even though my car is out of warranty, the fire was not caused by misuse — it was a technical fault. My car is now in a service center, and the entire electrical system needs to be replaced — a process that will take months. No temporary vehicle has been provided. No compensation has been offered. Why am I the one paying for this when it clearly wasn’t my fault? Why is Opel not taking responsibility? I AM ASKING: Why have I been left without a vehicle for so long? Am I being punished for trusting the Opel brand? Even if my car is repaired, how can I be sure this won’t happen again? Is Opel not a company large and reputable enough to offer a replacement car to a customer who suffered a major incident? I want my voice to be heard, because I’m out of patience.
