About 6 months ago, I purchased Nike Defyallday sports shoes from Koray Sport. Within less than 6 months, both shoes developed deformations and cracks on the upper and side leather parts. Despite owning four different pairs of shoes over this 6-month period, it's baffling to witness such rapid wear and tear in a Nike product. A pair of Reebok shoes I bought approximately 2 months before this Nike purchase is still in great condition despite regular use.
When I reported the issue to Koray Sport, they asked me to send the product for inspection. After shipping the product, I waited for 28 days only to be informed that they denied the claim and will not provide a refund or replacement.
Upon reaching out to Nike's customer representatives in the United States, they mentioned that they don't handle products sold outside the US and that there's a 2-year warranty for items purchased from them, whereas in Turkey, the warranty for purchased items is only 6 months. Additionally, they stated that within 2 years, they replace the product for any issues encountered, but they drew a line by saying they don't deal with products sold in Turkey.
When I contacted Nike Turkey and explained the situation, they simply said, 'There's nothing we can do. You can send the product again for another inspection.' For heaven's sake, how can a giant company like Nike not stand behind the products they sell in Turkey? The local representatives shrugged off the responsibility, saying, 'There's nothing we can do.' It's appalling that despite trusting the Nike brand, the products are failing prematurely, and there's no accountable party, neither locally nor internationally. This is a disgrace for Nike, leaving customers stranded due to their subpar products.
Anyone with even a basic understanding of shoes can see from the pictures that this is not a user error. It seems like their advice is to refrain from wearing the shoes if we want them to last longer.
