I Was Misinformed at NARS Emaar Store and Bought the Wrong Lipstick Shade
I want to report my frustration and disappointment with a purchase I made at the NARS Cosmetics store in Emaar AVM. When I entered the store, I clearly explained to the consultant that I have naturally dark-toned lips and that red lipsticks often appear burgundy on me. I asked specifically for a product that would appear as a true red on my lips.
The consultant showed me two options—one lighter, one darker—but strongly insisted that the darker shade would look red on my lips. Despite my doubts and suggestion that the lighter option might look redder, she continued to push the darker one. At no point during the sales process was I told that I could try the product before buying.
Relying on her guidance, I paid nearly ₺2,000 and purchased the lipstick. As I feared, it looked deep burgundy on my lips, not red. I returned to the store feeling disappointed, and that’s when the store manager, Ms. Ö****, informed me that I actually could have tried the products before purchasing—which had never been communicated by the consultant during my visit.
I feel misled and deprived of the chance to make an informed decision. The lack of clear communication and incorrect recommendation led me to buy a product I never wanted in the first place. I’m requesting a refund, an exchange, or another fair resolution to make up for this experience. If I don’t receive a prompt response, I will be forced to exercise my legal rights. I expect NARS to take accountability and get back to me without delay.
