I Was Pressured to Buy NARS Foundation at Sephora That Doesn’t Match or Suit My Skin

I recently purchased a NARS foundation from Sephora after a sales associate persistently recommended it. She went out of her way to convince me it was perfect for my skin, insisting that it provided hydration and should be applied with my hands for best results. Trusting her expertise, I bought it.
However, once I started using the product, I immediately realized it was completely wrong for my skin. It caused patchiness and flaking, making my complexion look dry and uneven. I have a consistent daily skincare routine, and no other product causes this reaction—this foundation is clearly incompatible with my skin type. To make matters worse, the shade they recommended is nowhere near my actual skin tone. It leaves my face ghostly pale and unnatural, completely off from my complexion.
I feel misled by the aggressive sales tactics and poor product match. The associate pushed hard for a sale without truly considering my needs or skin type. I expect Sephora and NARS to take responsibility and allow me to exchange the product for one that genuinely works with my skin. I’m not asking for anything unreasonable—just a fair resolution to a product mismatch caused by poor guidance.
