Motorola Locks MBP854 Baby Monitor Remote Access Behind Subscription Paywall
I chose the Motorola MBP854 baby monitor specifically for its remote Wi-Fi viewing feature, despite it costing nearly twice as much as similar products. At the time of purchase, the product specifications, promotional materials, and packaging all explicitly stated that remote access was available free of charge via the Hubble app.
However, as I noticed about two months ago, Motorola made the Hubble app a paid service, and now I am being pushed paid packages like a "lifetime access plan." Because the system operates as a closed loop and connectivity is provided exclusively through this platform, I cannot use any other application to access the camera remotely. Consequently, I am forced to either forego the camera's core feature—remote access—or pay extra app fees against my will.
I purchased the product from an Ebebek store. I cannot recall the exact purchase date or price, but I know I paid a significantly higher price compared to equivalent models. I feel cheated because the product fails to deliver on its core promise from the time of purchase—free app-based remote access—and now forces additional fee requirements.
I demand that Motorola reinstate the free remote access feature promised at the time of purchase, or at least grant existing users access to the Hubble app without requiring paid packages like the "lifetime access plan," providing a free or reasonable solution instead.
