On 13 January 2026, at around 17:20, I entered the McDonald’s branch on İstanbul Caddesi in Bakırköy, Istanbul. From the moment I walked in, there was a strange tension and an angry atmosphere inside the restaurant. When I reached the counter, I was informed that there were no drinks left in the branch. First, I was told that there was still Ice Tea, but after a few more customers, it was stated that it had also run out. Incredibly, there were no beverages of any kind available at the Istanbul Bakırköy İstanbul Caddesi McDonald’s branch. Because of this, I decided not to order food and instead chose to at least buy a filter coffee and placed my order, paying for it, but no one prepared the coffee or took any interest in it. Only after I reminded the staff did they start to brew it. However, despite my warning, they did not discard the old coffee at the bottom of the machine and brewed the new coffee on top of it. Between 17:20 and 17:30, I was the customer in the lobby wearing a white vest, waiting for my coffee; if the camera footage for that period is reviewed, everything I describe can be clearly seen. Although I paid for the coffee, no receipt was given to me. I have been a McDonald’s customer for years, but after this experience, I am unfortunately at the point of giving it up. The fact that all beverages had run out, and that the filter coffee was prepared in this way without any regard for hygiene and quality, creates the impression that the customers and citizens of the Republic of Turkey are not valued. Regarding this incident, I expect a corporate apology, and I request that customer relations contact me with an explanation. I also ask that an appropriate compensation or gesture be offered to make up for this experience, and that the necessary action be taken regarding the staff and procedures at this branch so that similar situations do not occur again.
