Lenovo Refuses Warranty Service for ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Dock

I own a Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock (model 40B0), which I use with a ThinkPad P1 Gen 4. This dock has two clear, reproducible hardware faults. First, the power button sends phantom signals that put my computer to sleep without any physical interaction, which I have confirmed via the Windows Event Log. Second, the video output is faulty and causes constant blackouts on my external monitor; when I bypass the dock and connect the monitor directly, the problem disappears completely, proving that the fault is in the dock. The dock is registered under my name and appears as under warranty in Lenovo’s own system, with coverage until 23.06.2028 (3-Year Customer Carry In). In addition, Lenovo’s International Warranty Service (IWS) tool lists this model as serviceable in Turkey. Despite this, after I first opened a hardware service request with Lenovo Turkey on 22.07.2026, they cancelled two of my hardware service requests (case numbers 2031970903 and 2031987968) and repeatedly redirected me to the seller, stating that they do not repair docks locally. Lenovo Turkey’s own authorized service partner BDH has also confirmed to me in writing that they do not repair docks, while Lenovo’s own IWS tool simultaneously lists this model as serviceable in Turkey, which creates a direct contradiction between Lenovo’s internal statements. Because the unit was purchased in the Netherlands via an intermediary I can no longer reach, this redirection does not offer any practical solution. As a result, Lenovo is effectively refusing hardware warranty service on a device that it itself shows as covered and serviceable in Turkey. I request that Lenovo Turkey either repair this dock under the existing warranty or, if repair is not possible, provide a replacement unit with equivalent specifications under the same warranty terms.
