I purchased a La Roche-Posay dual sunscreen pack from Trendyol, expecting both items to be identical and high-quality. Unfortunately, one of the sunscreens arrived spoiled—its smell was extremely off-putting and absolutely nothing like the usual scent of this product. The second one in the same package smells just fine, so it’s obvious something is wrong with the defective one.
I sent the faulty item in for review, but the response I got was both dismissive and frustrating. They claimed the terrible odor was “normal.” That’s simply not true—no one would willingly apply something that smells this bad to their face, especially from a brand that promotes dermatologist-tested products. I was told the defective product would be returned to me, and when I contacted the seller, they confirmed that only the bad unit needed to be sent in. Yet Trendyol rejected my complaint, citing “incomplete item return,” which makes no sense.
I seriously doubt the product was even properly examined. Just sniffing it would’ve been enough to know something’s wrong. I’m shocked that a premium brand like La Roche-Posay won’t stand behind its own product quality. It feels like they’re just pushing defective items during sales and hoping no one speaks up.
This is unacceptable. I will continue reporting this until I get a full refund for the defective product and proper accountability from both Trendyol and La Roche-Posay. I also intend to file a formal complaint with the Consumer Protection Authority. You can’t sell spoiled products and expect customers to stay silent.
