I purchased a brand new 2025 Kia EV6 Elegance Standard Range electric vehicle with the expectation—based on Kia’s own specifications—that it would offer a city range of 644 km and a combined range of 428 km per full charge. These claims were key factors in my decision to buy the car. Kia is clearly using these exaggerated range numbers to drive up sales.
However, the real-world performance is nowhere near what was promised. Today, with my battery charged to 100% and the temperature at a moderate 30°C, the car’s display only showed a maximum range of 380 km. I wasn’t even expecting the full 644 km, but I thought at the very least it would exceed 500 km in city driving. Not even close.
The fact that I can’t break 400 km under ideal conditions is not only disappointing—it feels deceptive. If Kia had been transparent about the actual usable range, I might have reconsidered my purchase. This kind of misinformation seriously damages customer trust and needs to be addressed.
I demand Kia take accountability for these misleading range claims and provide a realistic explanation or compensation for customers who feel misled by inflated specs.
