Persistent Engine Noise in Kia Sportage Diesel Models
I bought a 2020 diesel Kia Sportage Prestige with 26,000 km in April 2023. There was an abnormal sound coming from the left empty space of the engine. I visited several service centers, but the sound remained, so I sold the car. Then I purchased another 2020 diesel Sportage Prestige Design with 30,000 km, and it had the same sound. I went to different service centers again, and some parts were replaced. The Kia service center Öztopraklar claimed the sound was normal, but I’m sure it isn’t. I ended up selling that car too. Two weeks ago, I bought a 2023 diesel-hybrid Kia Sportage Prestige with 21,000 km—and once again, the same sound is present. I’ve attached a video of the issue. Can you suggest any solution other than selling the car just because of this abnormal sound?

I called the service as directed by Kia Turkey. The V-belt and tensioner pulley were replaced. The noise did not go away. I went again, and there was the same noise in another vehicle at the service, and they closed the issue by saying it was normal. My request to check, repair, or replace the fuel pump was left unanswered, and unfortunately, we are now back to where we started. Even those who ride in the car ask why this noise occurs at certain revs, but according to the service, it is normal, and my Kia adventure ends here. I am putting the car up for sale again and swearing off Kia. Thanks to everyone who did not contribute.
