I Accidentally Booked on Hotels.com and Didn’t Get a Refund After Immediate Cancellation

I mistakenly confirmed a reservation through Hotels.com, expecting some kind of confirmation step or at least a code verification prompt—but the booking was finalized instantly, without any additional security measures or approval steps. Within 10 minutes, I realized the mistake and canceled the reservation immediately through the platform.
Despite canceling so quickly, no refund has been issued, and there has been no communication from Hotels.com acknowledging my situation. This is incredibly frustrating, especially given how fast the cancellation was and how clear it is that the reservation was a mistake.
Hotels.com should absolutely provide a grace period or an extra layer of confirmation for cases like this. I am requesting a full refund immediately, and I expect the company to take accountability for not offering proper safeguards to prevent these kinds of errors. This experience has made me lose trust in the platform, and unless this is resolved quickly, I won’t be using Hotels.com again.
