HDI Insurance Delayed My Policy Start and Failed to Respond to My Service Request

A week ago, my policy with Al*** Insurance expired. Due to an excessive renewal fee, I decided to switch to HDI Insurance. I received a price quote from the agency and accepted it. However, the next day, I was told that they couldn’t start a new policy from scratch and that the process could only be done as a transfer. When I called HDI customer service, they said there was no transfer request in the system, that they had completed the necessary procedures, and that I could start the policy as a new entry by contacting the agency. Despite this, the agency insisted that they couldn’t initiate a new policy. When I contacted customer service again, they said they had created a service request and that I would be contacted during the day. No one called me back, and when I followed up again today, they still said someone would get in touch. It’s absurd to be kept waiting for such a crucial matter as health insurance. If we face this much trouble during the purchasing process, I can’t imagine what kind of difficulties we might encounter during claim processing. It’s truly disappointing to see such indifference from a company of this size.
