I purchased a Haier HD100-A2959E-TR dryer from Media Markt’s Konya M1 store. When the authorized Haier service team came to install the appliance, they verbally informed me that the device would not be covered under warranty in the event of an electrical malfunction unless a power limiter was used. The technician specifically stated:
“If a power limiter isn’t installed and the device fails due to an electrical issue, it won’t be covered by the warranty.”
I questioned this policy, as no other brand or authorized service provider has ever mentioned such a requirement. If this product truly needs a power limiter for safe operation, that component should be built into the machine itself, not sold as an additional accessory.
I haven’t started using the product yet and haven’t experienced any faults so far. However, this condition raises serious concerns about product reliability and the risk of being denied warranty coverage in the future under the pretext of “user error.”
As a consumer, I find this practice unfair and misleading. I request that Haier and Media Markt review this policy and ensure proper transparency so customers are clearly informed at the time of purchase about any extra requirements that could affect warranty validity.
