Gurudocs.com is A Scam Site

On May 1, 2026, I used Gurudocs.com because I urgently needed to reduce the size of a single photo to fit a website’s upload limits. The site showed a charge of 150 yen for this, and I paid that amount through PayPal, fully believing I was making a one‑time, small payment just to resize one image. Without any clear, understandable indication that I was signing up for an ongoing plan, Gurudocs.com then charged me 8,499 yen on May 8, 2026, for an annual subscription. I did not knowingly agree to an annual subscription, and I felt completely misled when I saw this unexpected charge. I contacted Gurudocs.com and explained that I did not want any subscription and that I only intended to pay the 150 yen for the one‑time photo resizing. Instead of resolving the issue, they tried to keep me as a paying customer by offering a two‑year subscription at half price. I refused and again asked for my money back. They then offered a one‑year subscription at half price with a half refund of the fee, which I also refused because I have no interest in using their app or service at all. After that, they said they would cancel my subscription but would not provide any refund. I also contacted PayPal about this annual subscription charge, but they informed me that they could not do anything. I am left feeling that I have been scammed. Gurudocs.com claims I should have noticed that I was being upgraded and that an annual charge would be made, but when a service shows 150 yen to complete a simple task, a reasonable user does not expect a hidden annual fee of 8,499 yen to follow. I request a full refund of the 8,499 yen annual subscription fee, as I never knowingly agreed to this subscription, I do not use or intend to use the service, and I believe the way this charge was presented is misleading. I also think that other users should be made aware of these practices so they are not similarly misled by unclear upgrade or subscription conditions.
