I purchased the Garmin D2 Mach 1 watch on October 28, 2023 (invoice attached). On August 8, 2024, it malfunctioned after I used it while swimming in a pool. Despite its claimed MIL-STD-rated durability and water resistance, the watch failed and had to be replaced under warranty.
I expected the replacement to hold up better, but on April 28, 2025, the exact same issue happened again—after routine pool use. I’ve now sent the device back to the authorized Garmin service provider, Baytekin Teknik Cihazlar, for a second time.
This issue clearly isn’t caused by misuse. A watch of this level and price should not malfunction just from swimming. I’m requesting either a full refund or an exchange for one of Garmin’s diving-specific watches that can actually handle underwater use. If necessary, I will pursue legal action to resolve this. A product marketed as water-resistant should live up to its promise.
