Four Seasons Bosphorus Charges Unexpected Valet and Parking Fee

On Tuesday, July 7, at approximately 6:30 p.m., we arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel Bosphorus. At the entrance, we informed the staff that we were there to visit the hotel's café. We were greeted with a friendly attitude, and we handed our vehicle over to the valet service.

We spent approximately four hours at the hotel's café. However, when we were leaving and asked to retrieve our vehicle, we were extremely surprised to be told that we had to pay a parking and valet fee of approximately $35. Since we had no choice at that point, we were forced to pay the fee.

My complaint is this: What hotel, café, or restaurant charges its own customers such a high parking and valet fee? More importantly, if such a fee is going to be charged, guests should be clearly and explicitly informed about it before using the valet service.

We were given no information whatsoever about this fee when we arrived. If we had been informed about the charge in advance, we would not have chosen to leave our vehicle there.

I believe this practice is extremely inappropriate from a customer satisfaction perspective, particularly for a hotel of this standard. I request that this matter be reviewed and that the hotel's policy regarding parking and valet charges, as well as the lack of clear advance disclosure, be properly addressed.
