Ford Sold Me a New Puma With Repainted Hood and Tampered Screws

On August 8, 2024, I purchased a brand-new Ford Puma from the Ankara Ford Başer dealership. However, suspecting an issue with paint peeling near the rear tail light, I had the vehicle inspected by an expert. It was revealed that the front hood's paint differed from the other parts, the hood screws had been tampered with, and touch-up paint was applied to the peeling area. When I reported this to Ford, I was directed to their body and paint service department, where paint measurements were taken, and a report was issued. I also received a letter from Otosan stating that such procedures might be done for visual integrity and would not cause a loss in value. Despite their claim that the issue was resolved, my grievance remains unaddressed. If I try to sell the car, an inspection report will show the hood as "removed and reinstalled," resulting in depreciation. I did not expect to face such an issue with a new vehicle and request compensation for my financial loss to resolve this matter.

An expert report was requested by Ford, I went and got an expert report for a fee of 3000 TL, hood removal and installation were written. I sent the report, the response we received was that they couldn't do anything else, so the cost of the expert report and the vehicle's depreciation were left to me.

3 cars, 3 owners all sold damaged vehicles as new at full price. Estella - Ford Ranger - Damaged bonnet and replaced windscreen Hakan - Ford Puma - Damaged bonnet replaced Murat - Ford Puma - Missing latch, bonnet and fender repainted. All owners produced expert reports but were dismissed by garages in Ankara, Antalya and Adana. It seems that this fraudulent practice is Turkey wide and Ford is not prepared to do anything about it that is if you can even get a response from them. My advice to anybody thinking about purchasing a new car from Ford don’t because it may not be in factory condition and you are unlikely to get any compensation for the financial loss that you may encounter on resale.
