IndiGo Airlines Canceled My Flight and Forced Me to Pay Extra for a New Ticket
On October 31, 2024, I was scheduled to fly from Phuket to Istanbul at 11:55 PM with IndiGo Airlines. When I attempted to check in, I discovered that the flight had been canceled without prior notice. The only alternative flight offered was the next day at 11:00 AM, with a 16-hour, 30-minute layover. To make matters worse, there was a note stating passengers might not be allowed to leave the aircraft during the layover.
Given my work commitments, I couldn’t wait that long and had to choose the cancellation and refund option. This left me scrambling to book a new flight at the last minute, costing me an additional ₺6,000–₺7,000. I am frustrated and unsure how to report this or seek compensation for the financial loss caused by IndiGo’s poor service. I demand a resolution and reimbursement for the extra expenses. Passengers deserve better communication and alternatives in such situations.
