I Face Southwind Airlines Boarding Problems And Had To Buy New Tickets
I purchased two tickets for a Southwind Airlines flight from Sheremetyevo to Istanbul on May 22, 2026. Our ticket numbers were 2633061214853 and 2633061214840. Before the flight, I completed online check-in for both tickets, and the system generated boarding documents for us. However, these documents did not contain QR codes, which caused serious problems at the airport.
Even though there was still approximately 1 hour before the scheduled departure time, baggage acceptance had already closed. Because of this, I decided not to check my suitcase and instead wanted to travel with only my cabin baggage. However, since the boarding documents generated after online check-in did not include QR codes, I could not pass through the necessary gates or complete the boarding process. I was still at the airport approximately 40 minutes before departure, but because of the missing QR codes and the closed baggage counter, I was not accepted onto the flight and ultimately missed it.
I could not find a single Southwind Airlines representative at the airport, and I was also unable to reach customer service by phone. The airport ticketing assistants told me that they could not help because my boarding documents did not have QR codes, leaving me without any practical solution.
As a result of this situation, I had to purchase new tickets for two people. I spent approximately $755 on replacement tickets and additional expenses and had to wait at the airport for 13 hours. I suffered a significant financial loss as well as considerable stress and exhaustion because of the long wait and uncertainty.
I request reimbursement for my total ticket-related losses, including the original Southwind Airlines tickets that I was unable to use. I also request additional compensation for the serious inconvenience, 13-hour airport wait, and distress I experienced.
The boarding documents without QR codes, the closure of baggage acceptance even though I wanted to travel with cabin baggage only, the lack of any Southwind Airlines representative at the airport, and the inability to reach customer service all contributed directly to this situation. I request that Southwind Airlines investigate the matter urgently and provide appropriate reimbursement and compensation.
