Etihad Damaged & Delayed Baggage: Missing Items Worth SAR 2,000+

On 28 July 2026 I flew with Etihad on the route Bangalore – Abu Dhabi – Dammam. When I finally received my checked baggage in Dammam, it was both delayed and severely damaged, and some of my belongings were missing. The hard fiber body of my suitcase was completely broken and the zip was also broken. My baggage was handed to me inside a plastic Etihad bag, which clearly shows that the suitcase had been badly damaged during handling. In addition to the visible damage to the suitcase itself, I also discovered that items were missing from my baggage, with an estimated total value of over 2,000 Saudi riyals. At Dammam airport I reported the issue to the relevant staff. I was called by someone from the airport and, as requested, I sent photos and a video of the damaged baggage to them via WhatsApp. However, I have not received any written response, reference number, or concrete solution from Etihad or the airport so far. I request full compensation for the delay, the damage to my suitcase, and the missing items, in line with Etihad’s obligations and international baggage handling rules. I kindly ask you to review the case urgently and inform me in writing about the compensation process without any further delay.
