Etihad Airways Damaged My Suitcase and Lost Clothes During My Flight

I travelled with Etihad Airways from Karachi to Sydney via Abu Dhabi on 25 June 2026 on booking reference 8HXNT3, with flights EY297 and EY450. When I collected my checked baggage at Sydney International Airport on 26 June 2026, I did not notice any visible problem at the carousel and went home as normal. When I opened my suitcase at home, I saw that the bag was badly torn on the side and clearly damaged to the point that it can no longer be used. In addition, one packet inside the suitcase, containing clothes worth approximately 80 AUD, was missing. The damaged suitcase itself is a Strandbags suitcase purchased in Sydney, Australia, with a value of about 170 AUD. Since the damage and loss were only discovered after I arrived home, I did not file a report at the airport. However, I am certain that both the damage to the suitcase and the missing clothes occurred during this Etihad journey. I kindly request reimbursement for the cost of the damaged suitcase (approximately 170 AUD) and compensation for the lost item of clothing (approximately 80 AUD), or a suitable equivalent solution. I am sharing photos of the damage and can provide any further information or documents you may need. I ask that this matter be investigated and that my loss be compensated as soon as possible.
