Emirates Sold Me a Ticket but Forced Me to Fly Flydubai in Uncomfortable Conditions

On April 23, during my connecting flight from Bali to Istanbul, I had a deeply disappointing experience. Although I booked my entire journey through Emirates, I was shocked to learn at the airport that my Dubai–Istanbul leg had been transferred to Flydubai without my prior knowledge or consent. I never agreed to fly with another airline, especially not in such poor conditions.

The aircraft was no different from a domestic flight jet—cramped, uncomfortable, and far from what you expect on a 5-hour international route. The cabin was cold, and some passengers near me turned off the air vent above me without asking. They didn’t understand English, and when I reported it to the flight attendants, they did nothing.

On top of that, the meal service was unfair. After serving the first two rows, they ran out of options, and the rest of us were left with only one meal choice. The entire experience, from lack of comfort to indifferent staff, was frustrating and unacceptable.

The worst part? I bought an Emirates ticket and was rerouted to another terminal to board a Flydubai flight without being told in advance. If I wanted to fly Flydubai, I would have booked with them—not paid a premium for Emirates. I demand a proper explanation and compensation for this bait-and-switch experience. Emirates, this is not what your brand promises.
