Emirates Dismisses Lost Item Claim for Vital Prescription Medication Left Onboard
On your August 14, 2026 flight EK124 from Istanbul to Dubai, we forgot a handbag in the overhead bin containing my wife's prescription medication for tachycardia. We had purchased these medications from the airport pharmacy right before boarding, and all of them were inside this bag.
I realized the loss as soon as we returned home and immediately called your call center. The agent told me to fill out a lost property form, which I completed thoroughly and submitted. A few days later, I received an email stating that no such item had been turned in, that they could do nothing further, and that they would not respond to any additional requests regarding this matter.
I believe that a passenger leaving behind a bag entirely filled with essential medication is an exceptional and noticeable situation. Had the flight crew, cleaning staff, and security teams properly collaborated and conducted a diligent internal investigation, locating this bag should have been entirely possible. We are deeply disappointed that an incident causing such distress—especially given how critical these medications are for my wife's health—was so casually written off with a simple "not found."
I am not seeking financial compensation for the cost of the medication; my only request is for a thorough, serious re-examination of all cabin and ground crew records from this flight to locate our missing bag.
