Denied Boarding on EasyJet Despite Valid French Residence Permit – Requesting Refund
I hold a French residence permit and work in France. Today, I had flights with EasyJet from Izmir to Bordeaux, with a layover in London. I passed through passport control in Izmir without any issues after showing my French residence permit and both flight tickets (Izmir-London and London-Bordeaux). However, the ground staff at the boarding gate refused to let me board the plane. They claimed that I couldn't transit through the UK with a French residence permit, which is incorrect. According to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official website, individuals with a valid European Economic Area residence permit are exempt from needing a UK transit visa, provided the transfer occurs at the same airport.
I repeatedly explained this to the ground staff and even showed them the official regulation, but they ignored it and insisted I couldn’t board. This was extremely frustrating and unjust. I am demanding a refund for the tickets I was wrongfully denied from using, and I need a proper explanation for this mistreatment.
