On October 21, 2024, I purchased a Corby CX020-2B Smart Atlantis drone from Media Markt, excited to try it out with my son. Following the user manual closely, I ensured the batteries were fully charged and opted to test it outdoors in sunny, calm weather. While flying it at a low height (2-4 meters) and engaging the autopilot as instructed, the drone suddenly shot forward and upward, completely ignoring my commands. Despite my attempts to regain control, it continued to climb until it disappeared from sight. My son and I were left disappointed and empty-handed on its very first flight. I am concerned about the potential risks, as the drone could cause harm if it landed somewhere uncontrolled. Given the circumstances, I expect the company to compensate for the loss and address this serious issue with the product’s functionality.
