My Tiggo 8 Pro’s Cameras Failed in Reverse—Chery Says Wait 3+ Months for Parts

On April 10, 2025, I noticed that none of the cameras on my Chery Tiggo 8 Pro were functioning when I shifted into reverse. It was raining at the time, and I suspect this is due to a known issue where water leaks into the cameras—something that’s becoming increasingly common.
I visited the Kahramanmaraş Chery Sarpel service center on April 14 and explained the situation. The technicians told me they’ve seen this issue frequently, and that it’s not new. However, they said there’s no stock of replacement cameras in Turkey, and they’d have to order them from China. Worse, they admitted that some customers have been waiting over 3 months for the same part.
So now I’m expected to drive a modern vehicle with no rear or 360° cameras for several months—on a car that’s marketed for its technology and safety? Chery is one of the best-selling brands in Turkey right now and is even planning to expand, yet they can’t even maintain a basic parts inventory or stand behind their customer promises.
I’m extremely disappointed. Chery, this is not how you treat customers who trusted your brand. I will never buy another Chery vehicle again unless this issue is addressed quickly and responsibly. Provide the part, fix the cameras, and stop making your growth your only priority—start taking care of the people who already bought your cars.
