I Was Denied Boarding With My 11-Month-Old Baby on Buta Airways Flight

I recently booked a Buta Airways flight from Sabiha Gökçen to Baku with my 11-month-old baby, but we were denied boarding at the airport because my baby’s ID was not with us. This was an extremely frustrating experience, especially since I had carefully reviewed the airline’s website beforehand to check all rules and requirements for traveling with infants. Nowhere did it state that a baby’s ID had to be presented at boarding.
After we purchased our tickets, no notifications or reminders were sent by Buta Airways about this requirement either. At the airport, instead of offering us assistance, the staff simply refused boarding and provided no refund, no rebooking, and no alternative solutions. We were left stranded without any support, despite having done everything possible to prepare correctly.
This situation caused significant stress and inconvenience for my family, and it feels completely unfair to penalize passengers for rules that are not clearly communicated. I am demanding a full refund of our tickets or a free rebooking option, along with an official clarification of Buta Airways’ policies regarding infant travel.
