Burger King Charged But Didn’t Refund After System Error

On October 31, 2025, I visited Burger King and placed an order, paying ₺1,220 with my bank card ending in 4054. The payment was deducted from my account, but shortly after, due to a system error, my order was canceled, and no product or service was provided. The branch staff told me, “The money will be refunded by the bank within a few days,” dismissing the issue lightly. However, even after five days, no refund was issued, and no clear explanation was given. I called customer service multiple times and was told each time, “The record has been forwarded to accounting, it’s in process, please wait.” As a customer, I do not accept that my money is held by Burger King for weeks due to a system failure. I received no service in return for my ₺1,220 payment and have been left at a loss. For a global brand, refusing to refund a customer and merely saying “wait” is a serious issue in terms of trust and customer satisfaction. I demand the immediate refund of the ₺1,220 withdrawn on October 31, 2025, to my bank card and a written apology from Burger King for the inconvenience caused. I expect this issue to be resolved as soon as possible.

On 31.10.2025, I personally went to the Burger King Konya Kıvılcım Bulvar AVM branch and placed an order. I paid at the cashier, and 1,220 TL was successfully withdrawn from my Yapı Kredi bank card. However, shortly after, the system crashed and my order was canceled. No product was given, no service was provided. The staff brushed it off by saying, 'Don’t worry, the money will be refunded by the bank in a few days.'

Today it has been 12 days, and still there is neither a refund nor a clear explanation. I have called customer service many times; each time I received the same answer: 'The record has been forwarded to accounting, it is going through the processes, you need to wait.' I’m sorry, but it is unacceptable for my money to be held up in Burger King’s accounting processes. Why am I paying the price for this brand’s system error?

Withdrawing 1,220 TL and providing no service, then stalling for weeks by saying 'there are processes' is a corporate disgrace. I did not place an order to finance Burger King’s cash register! My money is now circulating in the brand’s system, maybe even being used as working capital for them. This literally means keeping and utilizing the customer’s money in the system.

For a global brand to not refund the customer’s money and say 'wait' is disrespectful and a breach of trust. The greatness of a brand is measured not by its advertisements, but by how it treats customers it has wronged. Burger King has failed in this matter. I no longer trust this brand, and I will not recommend it to anyone around me. This behavior is incompatible with both commercial ethics and the understanding of customer satisfaction.

I demand that the 1,220 TL I paid be refunded to my account as soon as possible.

There is still no progress, no money, no response. Honestly, it's funny that such a big company is settling for such small amounts. Let it be my charity, what else can I say.
