I came across ads for the Buddy.ai app online, which clearly promised a 7-day free trial. Based on this, I decided to sign up. However, despite the "free" offer, the app forced me to enter my credit card details just to activate the trial. I reluctantly provided my information, thinking I could test the app and cancel before being charged if I wasn’t satisfied.
Shockingly, before even completing a single day of the supposed 7-day free trial, Buddy.ai immediately charged me $24 (around ₺ equivalent). The app didn’t meet my expectations, so I reached out for support. There’s no phone number, no office address—nothing. I sent an email and waited several days to get a response, only to be told that my subscription was canceled but no refund would be issued.
This is completely unethical. How can you claim a 7-day free trial and then charge customers instantly without providing any service? It’s misleading, exploitative, and borderline fraudulent. Worse, as they are operating from abroad, it’s hard to hold them accountable. I demand an immediate refund and ask that they stop misleading people with false advertising. I will report this to consumer protection authorities if it isn’t resolved.
