I Missed My Flight Due to a Medical Emergency and Booking.com Won’t Refund My Hotel
I had planned a trip to Skopje through Booking.com and booked a stay at Ohrid Sky Corner Hotel. Everything was in order until the day of departure. While at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, just before boarding, I suddenly experienced a serious health issue and had to be taken to the airport’s medical clinic for emergency treatment.
Due to this unforeseen medical emergency, I was unable to board my flight and therefore couldn’t make it to the hotel. I immediately contacted Booking.com to request a refund for the hotel reservation, providing all necessary documentation regarding my condition.
Unfortunately, not only did the hotel refuse to issue a refund, but they didn’t even bother to respond to my request. Booking.com also failed to assist, simply letting the hotel charge the full amount even though I couldn’t physically travel.
This was a legitimate health emergency, not a last-minute cancellation without reason. I’m requesting Booking.com to take responsibility and refund the ₺ amount that was charged unfairly. Emergencies like this should be met with understanding — not silence and refusal. I expect a resolution immediately.
