Hello, On June 16, 2024, we rented a car from the Hertz office on Lesbos Island through Booking.com. We paid the rental fee and insurance via Booking.com. When we arrived at the Hertz Lesbos office, a €650 authorization hold, as stated on the Booking.com site, was requested. We returned the car on June 19 and were given a slip confirming the cancellation of this authorization hold.
Despite a significant amount of time passing, this amount has not been refunded. I have contacted Booking.com, Hertz Lesbos, Hertz Greece, and my bank multiple times. They all kept redirecting me to each other in a loop. Ultimately, they all agreed that the issue needed to be resolved by Hertz Greece.
Hertz Greece claims that the authorization hold has been canceled and that there is nothing more they can do. However, I believe that the cancellation was not processed correctly. I used my bank card for the payment. My bank has confirmed that there is no issue on their end regarding the bank card.
I cannot understand how a reputable car rental company like Hertz could leave us facing such an issue. I have also noticed that many others have encountered this problem online. I request that this issue be resolved as soon as possible.
