Booking.com and Hotel Refuse to Refund After Canceled Reservation in Venice

I booked a stay at Albergo Antiko Japon Hotel in Venice via Booking.com for August 15, only to find the hotel far too small and unsuitable for four people. The conditions were terrible, so I contacted the hotel owner, explaining we couldn’t stay and would be canceling the reservation. After canceling, we requested a refund. The hotel owner claimed the reservation didn’t come through Booking, and that only Booking could handle the cancellation. For 20 days now, neither Booking nor the hotel has resolved our issue, and we still haven’t received our money back. Booking.com is indifferent to customer issues and seems to care only about their own profits. Booking, return my money!
