Booking.com Canceled My Venice Hotel and Won’t Refund Me Despite Proof

I booked a stay at Hotel Canal Walter Venezia in Venice through Booking.com for July 20–22, 2025 and paid the full amount in advance. Months later, at the end of April, Booking.com unilaterally canceled my reservation without any warning or valid reason.
This left me completely stranded, as I had already booked my flight and Italo train tickets. By the time I started searching for an alternative hotel, prices had skyrocketed. The cancellation wasn’t just poorly timed—it caused me serious financial and logistical stress.
What’s worse is that Booking.com still hasn’t refunded my payment. They asked for unnecessary documentation, which I provided in full. I sent multiple emails, only to be told, “Contact your bank and file a dispute.” But I paid Booking.com directly—it is their responsibility to issue the refund.
I have been left without accommodation and without my money. I am extremely disappointed and feel completely let down. I will pursue legal action and continue to share my experience publicly to make sure no one else goes through this. Booking.com, take accountability, issue my refund, and stop pushing your customers around.
