Amazon TR Doesn't Address Systemic Vulnerability in Turkish Market
I have noticed that Amazon.com.tr and its employees are unjustly withholding sellers' funds. Moreover, employees are covering up issues due to their fear of reporting them to the United States or the UK and losing their jobs. The system loophole works like this: You purchase a product, then claim that it was not delivered to you or that the return shipping code is not working. This way, you can get a refund and keep the product for free. Amazon unconditionally refunds your money but does not pay the seller. For instance, if you bought a TV worth 50,000 Turkish Lira, you can initiate an A-to-Z refund guarantee by claiming that the product did not reach you or that the return shipping code is not functioning, allowing you to keep the item without paying for it. Since the seller is not Amazon, they have to refund the full amount because Amazon does not cover it. This leads to millions of Turkish Lira being lost from our economy every year. Consequently, American-based Amazon is benefiting from free advertising in our country, impoverishing local sellers, hindering the growth of the e-commerce sector, and preventing other Turkish companies from becoming competitive by reaching their size. We urge the government and the Ministry of Trade to impose sanctions on Amazon, conduct audits on domestic and international sales, and seek input from sellers regarding their issues. Order Number: 171-3757667-9253108. Best regards,
