On November 20, 2024, I ordered a TV from Amazon during a promotional sale when the product was listed as in stock. However, immediately after my purchase, the website indicated, "Make the payment now, and we will notify you by email when the product is back in stock." I contacted Amazon customer service to confirm if the product would be shipped, and they assured me that I wouldn’t face any issues and that the TV would be sent within a week. I even clarified that I would not place the order if the item wouldn’t be shipped, but they insisted I proceed with the purchase, guaranteeing no issues. Nine days passed with no delivery, despite opening four service requests and being told I would receive updates. Finally, on November 29, I received an email stating the order had been canceled. When I contacted customer service again, they couldn’t provide any explanation. Upon escalating the issue, a supervisor spoke to me dismissively and raised their voice, simply stating, "Yes, it’s canceled. There’s nothing we can do. If it comes back in stock, we can offer it at the same price," without any assurance that the product would ever be restocked. I explained that I had no TV, was left in a difficult situation, and could no longer find the same TV at the original price on other platforms. I had already been charged the first installment of the purchase, and my credit card balance was used up for this order. I’m a disaster survivor who lost my home and belongings in the earthquake and wanted to replace my television under challenging circumstances. Now, I’ve been left stranded by Amazon’s lack of accountability. This is not the Amazon I once knew. It’s unacceptable to run promotions for out-of-stock items, mislead customers, and provide no support. I will be pursuing my legal rights and taking this issue to court.
