Allianz Denied My Medical Claim Due to Preexisting Notes
I recently underwent a medical examination with the help of Allianz Supplementary Insurance. During the appointment, the doctor made notes about my previous medical history in case it was needed (for the Integrity of Health Records). Allianz, on the other hand, refused to cover the examination costs solely because of those notes. As someone with a Master's degree in Health Informatics, I can attest that any significant information in a patient's medical history should be documented in their health records, even if the likelihood of relevance is one in a thousand. In medical records, this is standard procedure. So, if you were injured as a child and go to the doctor at the age of 50 with a painful arm, that information should be recorded. It is not a recurrence of the condition, but rather part of a comprehensive medical history. I demand that Allianz pay for the relevant examination costs at Medical Park, in accordance with the number of visits allowed under my policy.
